Hey y’all! I hope this post finds you in good spirits. I am happy to bid September and all its Back to School madness a fond farewell and welcome in the refreshingly crisp breeze, beautiful colors and early evening that accompany a Virginia autumn. I am enjoying my days in the new studio and have settled into a comfy groove. Now that a reasonable amount of time has passed I can confidently tell you the decision I made to close my Middleburg boutique was a good one indeed. I especially love that I have my weekends free. Lately we have been spending those in the bleachers watching our daughter, Megan, perform in the high school marching band.
I am so grateful that I can customize my studio hours to suit our schedule and I don’t have to miss these special moments in my children’s lives. That freedom, I believe, really is the point of being an entrepreneur.
Currently I have a three-week turn around time on custom orders. I expect that time frame to increase to four weeks by mid month as some holiday orders have already been submitted. This year, I anticipate the new monogrammed camera strap covers will be my best seller as the intro pricing of $12 will be good through the end of 2016!
Last year, by December 1st my holiday production schedule was at max capacity. With that in mind, I would suggest placing your custom holiday orders no later than Thanksgiving Day to ensure Christmas Delivery and sooner if at all possible.
If you are looking for an extra special gift, for the photographer in your life, I want to suggest my medium camera bag with camera strap cover. The medium bag will hold the digital camera body with 55mm lens or 300mm lens attached and is my best-selling camera bag. The metallic feathers and mint arrows used on the bag above have been very popular this season and are currently on back order until late December! Luckily, there are many other gorgeous prints available from Hawthorne Threads which you can choose from. For your consideration, here are some of my favorite fabric combinations. If you see something that catches your eye, I would be delighted to work with you on a custom order and invite you to contact me via email email@example.com or start an Etsy conversation.
For those of you who sew or would like to learn how to sew, I want to remind you in October 2015 I launched Sewspire a sewing inspiration blog that features free weekly sewing tutorials. If you haven’t had a chance yet, please pop on over and have a look around! While most of the content is free, you will also find my ever popular Zippered Diaper Bag and Compact Padded Camera Bag Tutorials for sale under the Premium Tutorials. As always, I thank you for reading along and your continued enthusiasm. I know many of you have followed my journey since early 2006 and I love that! Regardless of when you happened upon me and my handmade company, your kind words and support me the world to me!
Until we meet again, I will be wishing you all good things,
