Watermelon Wishes was founded out of necessity in January 2006, after my husband learned his employer of 17 years, Independence Air (formerly Atlantic Coast Airlines) was going out of business. Over the months that ensued, Darin and I were faced with the daunting prospect of starting our lives all over. Optimistically we knew that whatever path we selected, it should be centered upon something we love! So, we united Darin's entrepreneurial spirit with my craftsmanship and Watermelon Wishes was born.

As you may know, we specialize in handcrafted gifts for mother and baby. An avid crafter myself, I have always appreciated the time and talent that goes into a handmade gift and find the sentimental value and quality to be unmatched.

As we rebuild our lives, it is our hope that we can promote the talents of other crafters across the country through our consignment program while making a valuable contribution to woman and children within our community, via the Watermelon Wishes Foundation.
